Philip C. Smith MD PhD, FACS serves as the Chief of Cardiac Surgery and Clinical Director of the Fetal Diagnostic and Treatment Center at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters and as a Congenital Cardiac Surgeon at the University of Virginia Health System since August 2017. With prior leadership roles at Akron Children's Hospital and University Hospitals, Philip C. Smith has demonstrated expertise in developing pediatric cardiovascular service lines, overseeing surgical services, and ensuring quality and safety in clinical settings. Philip C. Smith's extensive educational background includes an MD PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Minnesota, complemented by additional specialized training in congenital cardiac surgery. Additionally, Philip C. Smith operates as an independent business owner at COVA Brewing Company since July 2019.
