Cindy Elsbernd is a skilled Governance Manager and CGCS Governance Coach at the Council of the Great City Schools, focusing on enhancing governance practices to improve student outcomes. Since July 2017, Cindy has operated as a Board Governance and Leadership Consultant/Coach at Emendable Consulting, LLC, supporting school boards and administrative teams in their roles to foster children's success. Cindy is also the CEO and Founder of Iowa Kidstrong, Inc., established in January 2005. Previous roles include Program Manager for Well Kids of Central Iowa at United Way of Central Iowa, and board member positions across various organizations, including Des Moines Public Schools and Junior Achievement of Central Iowa. Cindy holds a Certification in Accredited Policy Governance® Proficiency and a BA in Individual Studies with a focus in Journalism from the University of Northern Iowa.
