Michael Salinger is an accomplished educational professional with extensive experience in literacy and creative writing. Currently serving as Board President at 12 Literary Arts and as an author for Scholastic and Corwin Press, Michael has a history of impactful work in various roles, including Partner at Outspoken Literacy Consulting, where practical literacy workshops and standards-aligned lessons are developed. Michael's background includes roles as an author and speaker for Heinemann Publishing and as a teaching artist with Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio. As the owner of a teaching artist and literacy coaching service, Michael has dedicated over a decade to enhancing literacy and comprehension through creative writing. Additionally, experiences include founding the Slam U program at Playhouse Square Foundation and consulting for the Cleveland Museum of Art. Notably, Michael is also the author of "Well Defined," an award-winning collection of humorous poems designed to elucidate SAT-level vocabulary.
