Erik Wright is an experienced asset management professional currently serving as the Manager of Asset Management at the Town of Newmarket since November 2019. In this role, Erik collaborates across public works, engineering, finance, and IT to implement a Council-approved Asset Management Strategy and ensure compliance with O. Reg 588/17. Prior to this position, Erik worked as a Junior Asset Management Consultant at AECOM, contributing to municipal asset management consulting projects with a focus on risk analysis and operations planning. Erik's earlier experiences include roles as a GIS Assistant at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change and as an Environment Intern for the City of Kingston, where responsibilities encompassed environmental monitoring and reporting, as well as GIS asset management. Erik holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Queen's University and has completed additional certifications in Asset Management and GIS.
