Matt Walpole is a seasoned conservation leader with extensive experience in strategic management and biodiversity initiatives. Currently serving as Chief Executive at Cornwall Wildlife Trust since September 2022, Matt previously held roles including Global Strategist at WWF and Senior Director of Conservation Programmes at Fauna & Flora International, where responsibilities included overseeing multiple regional conservation programmes. Prior experience includes Director of Partnerships & Development at UNEP-WCMC, where Matt was integral to fundraising and organizational direction, and various research roles related to wildlife ecology at the University of Kent. Matt holds a PhD in Nature-Based Tourism from the University of Kent and a BA in Natural Sciences with a focus on Zoology from Clare College.
