Louise Foott

Head Of Department Arts In Health & Education at Cork Institute of Technology

Louise Foott has extensive work experience in the field of arts, health, and education. Louise began their career in 1996 as a lecturer in Arts in Health & Community Practice at Munster Technological University. In 2017, they were promoted to the role of Head of Department for Arts in Health & Education at the same institution. Additionally, they have worked as a freelance Facilitation Trainer since 1998. From 2015 to 2017, Foott served as a Sessional Lecturer at University College Cork, Ireland.

Louise Foott has a diverse education history. Louise obtained their Professional Doctorate degree in Art and Positive Psychology from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) between 2023 and 2026. Prior to that, they earned an MA in Group Facilitation with Distinction from University College Cork, National University of Ireland from 2007 to 2011. In 1999, they completed a BA (Hons) in Fine Art with a focus on Printmaking from Crawford College of Art & Design, Cork Institute of Technology. Louise also holds a PG Cert Education with Distinction from Ulster University, which they earned in 1993, focusing on Art/Art Studies. In addition, they have a PG Dip in Applied Arts specializing in Printmaking & Textiles, which they obtained in 1992, also from Ulster University. Their academic journey began with a BA (Hons) in Design specific to Illustration, completed between 1988 and 1991, also from Ulster University.
