Anup Lama has a diverse range of work experience. anup began their career as a Manager at SIBIN Group in 2007 and held this role until 2011. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as the Head of Department at SIBIN Group. Following this, they served as the CRM Officer at Charles Darwin University from 2017 to 2020. Anup then joined the City of Gold Coast as an Application Support Specialist, where they worked from 2020 to 2022. anup subsequently worked as a Client Support Representative at ARES PRISM Software in 2022. Currently, they are employed as a Customer Support Specialist at Contruent, starting in 2023.

Anup Lama's education history begins with their completion of Class X Pass at Holy Cross School in Sikkim, from 1989 to 1999. anup then pursued a Diploma in DEHM in Industrial Electronics Technology/Technician at CCCT/ATTC from 2000 to 2003. Anup went on to obtain a B. Tech degree in Electronics and Communication from CCSU between 2004 and 2007. In addition to their formal education, Anup also obtained several certifications. In 2014, they completed the Principles of Project Management (ProjMgt) course from Open2Study Australia. In 2016, they received both the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management and the PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Finally, in 2017, Anup obtained a PRINCE2 AGILE certification, also from AXELOS Global Best Practice.
