Masha Berek is an experienced development professional currently serving as the Director of Development and Director of Major Gifts at The Contemporary Jewish Museum since February 2023. Prior experience includes the role of Director of Special Events at Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive from December 2018 to January 2023, where Masha successfully organized high-profile galas, including a record-breaking event generating over $950,000. Masha's background also encompasses leadership positions at The Friends of Governors Island, including Deputy Director and Director of Partnerships and Programs, where strategic initiatives transformed the island into a community resource. Additional roles include Director of Visitor Services at the Museum at Eldridge Street and Executive Director of the Institute for Cultural Enterprise, highlighting a dedication to enhancing visitor engagement and supporting artistic communities. Masha holds a Master's degree in International Affairs with a concentration in cultural policy, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Cultural and Visual Studies, both from The New School, alongside other educational credentials in design and cultural studies.
