Barry Zigas is a seasoned housing policy expert with extensive experience in mortgage finance, homeownership, rental housing, and community reinvestment. As a Senior Fellow and Director of Housing Policy at the Consumer Federation of America since October 2008, Barry Zigas advocates for effective federal housing policies. Additionally, as Principal at Zigas and Associates LLC, Barry Zigas oversees organizational and policy development for various private and nonprofit entities. Prior involvement includes serving on the Board of Governors for the National Housing Conference and the Board of Directors for Mercy Housing, among other significant roles in organizations such as Fannie Mae and its foundation, where leadership focused on expanding homeownership opportunities. Barry Zigas holds a BA in History from Grinnell College and attended The Wharton School.
