Ira L. Salom

Ira L. Salom has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 2006, they served as a Medical Director at GHI HMO Select, Inc. for a few months before transitioning to the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service, where they held the role of Commander (O-5) and received the distinction of Reserve Physician of the Year in 2009. In 2007, Salom became a Physician Advisor at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center until 2011. From 2010 to 2014, they chaired the Uniform Formulary Beneficiary Advisory Panel at the Defense Health Agency.

In 2011, Salom took on the position of Clinical Director (Chief Medical Officer) at the Northern Navajo Medical Center in New Mexico, overseeing a wide range of medical services and a large staff. They also served as the Chair of the National Council of Clinical Directors from 2016 to 2017.

During this time, Salom also joined Woodhull Hospital, initially as a Physician Advisor in 2011 and later as an Attending Physician from 2020 to 2022. They achieved significant improvements in utilization review, insurance relations, and denials of payment. In 2017, Salom became the Medical Director of the Community Health and Wellness Center of Greater Torrington.

In 2021, Salom took on multiple roles, including an Auxiliary Member of the NYS Board of Medicine and Medical Director at the METRO COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS INC. Their responsibilities included conducting hearings, supervising clinical activities, and ensuring high-quality medical care. Finally, in 2022, Salom joined Constructive Partnerships Unlimited as the Chief Medical Officer.

Ira L. Salom has an extensive education history. Ira L. earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Philosophy from New York University. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Health Administration and Policy from the same institution. Salom furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) in Internal Medicine and Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota. Ira L. later attended New York University's Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. Prior to their higher education, Salom studied at the Yeshiva of Brighton Beach, although no degree information is available for this period.

Salom has also obtained multiple certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Ira L. earned certification as a Certified Physician Executive from the Certifying Commission in Medical Management.
