R. Elena P. started their work experience as a Research Student at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2013, focusing on the risk of loss of ecosystem service due to changes in soil natural capital. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as an Environmental Engineer at IEB S.A, where they identified and selected environmental projects and conducted solid waste characterization studies. R. Elena then joined Servicios Ambientales Geocycle SAG, S.A. in 2017 as an Environmental Engineer Specialist, where they assessed and managed projects in the energy sector and provided environmental support for power generation plants. In 2019, they became a Consultant Environmental Engineer at WL Ingeniería, working on various environmental projects. Later in 2019, they joined Smart SA as an Environmental Engineer, and in 2021, they became a Graduate Researcher at The University of Texas at El Paso. Currently, they work as an Engineering Designer at CONSOR Engineers from 2023 onwards.

R. Elena P. began their education journey in 2012 at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where they pursued a degree in Environmental Engineering until 2017. During this time, they also participated in an auxiliary position at the Departamento de Geociencias y Medioambiente/Universidad Nacional de Colombia - sede Medellín, although the specific field of study is not specified.

In 2017, R. Elena P. was awarded a DAAD German Academic Exchange Service scholarship, allowing their to further their studies in Environmental Engineering. In terms of additional certifications, R. Elena P. completed the "Project Online Reporting with Power BI" course offered by LinkedIn in March 2022. In February 2021, they obtained a certification in Engineering and Computer Science Responsible Conduct of Research from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY. R. Elena also obtained a COPNIA Register Engineer certification from COPNIA - Consejo Profesional Nacional de Ingeniería, although the specific details of its acquisition are not provided.
