Justin MacDonald has extensive work experience as a geologist, with a focus on structural assurance and reservoir characterization. Justin has worked for ConocoPhillips since 2012, holding various roles such as Staff Geologist - Structural Assurance Lead Alaska Business Unit. In this role, they worked on structural and geomechanical characterization efforts for ConocoPhillips' North Slope assets. Justin also worked on reservoir characterization, disposal well planning, and decision framing for the Willow Appraisal team. Prior to joining ConocoPhillips, Justin worked as a geologist for Equity Exploration Consultants Ltd., where they conducted structural mapping and managed drill programs. Justin also gained experience as a Regional Mapping Geologist for the Government of the Northwest Territories, focusing on fold-thrust belt mapping. Justin holds a graduate teaching assistant position at the University of Adelaide and the University of Waterloo in the past.
Justin MacDonald received their Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Memorial University of Newfoundland from 2003 to 2006. Justin then pursued a Master of Science degree in Structural Geology from the University of Waterloo, which they completed from 2007 to 2009. Justin MacDonald furthered their education by obtaining a PhD in Structural Geology from the University of Adelaide from 2009 to 2012.
