James Gierse

James Gierse has had a long and successful career in biochemistry and drug discovery. James began their career in 1978 as a Chemist at Sigma Chemical, before becoming an Associate Research Scientist at Bethesda Research Labs in 1981. In 1985, they moved to Monsanto as a Senior Scientist. James then joined Pharmacia in 1999 as an Associate Fellow, and went on to work in the same role at Pfizer and PGRD in 2003. In 2010, they became a Biochemist at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, and in 2014 they began working as a Senior Scientist at Confluence Discovery Technologies. In 2018, they retired.

James Gierse received their B.S. in Biology Chemistry from Valparaiso University in 1976 and their M.S. in Biology from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis in 1981.
