Nick Oleynick

Director of Finance & Administration at Conexus Arts Centre

Nick Oleynick is the Director of Finance & Administration at Conexus Arts Centre. Nick has over four years of experience in finance and administration, most recently at the Students' Union of the University of Regina where they served as the Director of Finance. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing complete organization financial statements, financial controls, budget, & process improvement. Nick also did monthly, quarterly, & annual analysis of financial performance & related metrics, consolidated Financial Statements, General Ledger review & financial analysis, and administration of bi-weekly payroll & benefits to 80+ employees.

At the Students' Union of the University of Regina, Nick was also responsible for ensuring financial compliance with corporate constitution, bylaws, government regulations, and aligning department with strategic vision, mission, & goals. Nick was able to reduce operating costs by 20% while ensuring supports for increased food & beverage revenue 35 months in a row and reducing turnaround time & collectability for A/R, monthly financial reporting. Nick also achieved a clean audit 3 years in a row and provided analysis & opinion on all corporate investments ($5M+). In addition to these responsibilities, Nick also provided leadership to empower senior managers & elected executives to take responsibility for departmental budgets & financial performance, was a member of CUPE CBA negotiations, management, and staff motivation & performance review. Nick also navigated the organization through COVID and directed & maximized COVID-19 program utilization available to organization.

Some of Nick's special projects include transitioning the organization to paperless financial accounting system and being responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive HRIS/Payroll system. Nick has also provided detailed analysis & modeling of various new business plans and been involved in a labour/COGS control initiative to improve outlet financials.

Nick Oleynick has completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Institute of Business, as well as an Education Leadership Institute Certificate from the University of Regina. Nick also has a certification in accounting from SIAST and is a certified notary public from the Government of Saskatchewan.

Nick Oleynick works with Shari Tourscher - Theatre Services Manager, Garth Strawford - Food & Beverage Manager, and Colette Perras - Hospitality Services & Social Media Manager.
