Dr. Jeffrey Hatcher is the chief medical officer for Wesley Long Hospital. He also co-leads Cone Health’s work with the Vanderbilt Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy to help improve patient care and the interactions between physicians and staff.
Hatcher joined Cone Health in 2001 as an infectious disease physician. He served as the medical director for the Regional Center for Infectious Disease from 2011 to 2019. Hatcher has been integral in the clinic’s work with Ryan White funding, which has expanded services for the HIV patients of the clinic. Hatcher has served as a member of the national Ryan White Medical Providers Steering Coalition for more than a decade.  
Since joining Cone Health, he served on the Medical Executive Committee and as president of the medical-dental staff from 2016 to 2018. Hatcher has chaired the pharmacy and therapeutics committee since 2006 and has been a specialties medical director for Cone Health Medical Group and the infectious disease lead physician for Triad HealthCare Network.   
Hatcher completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University. He earned his medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Hatcher completed his internal medicine residency at the State University of New York at Stony Brook where he also served as chief resident. He completed his infectious disease fellowship at Vanderbilt University.   
Hatcher has been a board member and board chair for Triad Health Project and board member and board chair of Central Carolina Health Network. He is an elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
