Scott Zimmerman

Scott Zimmerman has extensive work experience in the field of information technology and cybersecurity. Scott started their career in 1986 as an IT Manager at Computer Factory, where they managed IT operations for the company. In 1993, they joined Concurrent Technologies Corporation, initially as a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer and then as Chief Information/Security Officer. In these roles, they were responsible for developing and implementing information security policies, leading the information security infrastructure team, and designing and implementing cybersecurity products. Scott also played a key role in obtaining the first FedRAMP certified Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud solution. In 2017, they joined Valley College as the Cybersecurity Program Head and Adjunct Instructor, where they provided support for curriculum development and taught classes on Ethical Hacking, Cloud Computing Security, and Operating Systems.

Scott Zimmerman has a diverse education history. In 1981 to 1983, they attended the Electronic Institute and obtained an Associate of Science degree in Electronic/Computer Technology. Following that, from 1996 to 1998, they attended Kennedy Western and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems.

Moving forward to recent years, in 2013, Zimmerman pursued further education at DePaul University where they studied subjects such as Cloud Computing Technologies and Big Data and NoSQL. Continuing their academic journey, they enrolled in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2014 and focused on "Takling the Challenges of Big Data." In the same year, they also attended DePaul University and gained knowledge in Big Data Analytics with Hadoop.

During their educational journey, Zimmerman also acquired certifications to enhance their skill sets. Scott attained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2 in 1999 and again in 2001. In 2009, they obtained the Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (CISSP-ISSEP) certification from (ISC)². Additionally, they became a GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) in 2001 through SANS.

Furthermore, Zimmerman sought specialized training in Architecting with Amazon Web Services from AWS Training in 2013. In 2011, they completed the SANS Network Forensics course to complement their expertise.

Continuing to expand their knowledge, Zimmerman participated in NIST Risk Management Framework studies at Cybrary in 2016.

Overall, Zimmerman has a well-rounded education history, with a combination of degree programs, specialized training, and professional certifications in various fields such as big data analytics, cloud computing, and information systems security.
