Mailena Urso has extensive experience in marketing and communications, having held roles at several organizations since 2007. Mailena began their career as a Sales and Marketing Assistant at VISIT BENTONVILLE in 2007. Mailena then moved to the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) as a Marketing and Communications Coordinator in 2008. From 2011 to 2017, they held various roles at Collective Bias, including Account Executive, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Senior Director of Marketing and Communications. During this time, they were also an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Arkansas, teaching a senior-level media planning course. In 2017, they became the Chief Marketing Officer at Lauren James and developed a successful marketing strategy. In 2018, they opened Big Box Karaoke, a private suite karaoke restaurant and bar, and was awarded Best Small Business in Fayetteville, Ark. Most recently, in 2020, they founded Concord Adams, a company that provides branding, web design and marketing strategy services.

Mailena Urso completed a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (Advertising and Public Relations) from the University of Arkansas. Mailena also completed Dale Carnegie's "Effective Communication & Human Relations" program in 2013.
