James Mandich joined Comstock Holding Companies®, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHCI) (“Comstock” or “Company”) in early 2022 as Vice President and Controller. In this position, Mr. Mandich is responsible for oversight of the accounting close and consolidation as well as the external reporting function. He possesses a robust background in financial process improvement and internal control compliance and focuses on those areas for the Company.
Prior to joining Comstock, Mr. Mandich served in a similar role from 2016 to 2021 at Beacon Roofing Supply, Inc. (Nasdaq: BECN), a Fortune 500 distributor of roofing materials and complementary building products in the United States and Canada. At Beacon, he was responsible for all corporate accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting efforts. During his tenure, Mr. Mandich was instrumental in the successful execution of multiple billion-dollar acquisitions and debt refinancing efforts.
Prior to Beacon, Mr. Mandich worked at Opower, Inc. (NYSE: OPWR), a provider if cloud-based services to the utility industry, where led SEC Reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) compliance efforts from 2012 to 2016. From 2005 to 2012, Mr. Mandich held various positions at MorganFranklin Consulting, LLC, a strategic management consulting firm, where he specialized in SEC Reporting, SOX compliance, and financial accounting clients. Mr. Mandich began his career with KPMG, LLC, where he worked as an auditor from 2003 to 2005.
Mr. Mandich attended the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with honors in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He also earned a Master of Science in Accountancy degree from Notre Dame in 2003 and is a Certified Public Accountant.
