Edina Torlakovic

Director Of Cognitive Research And Learning at Compusult Systems

Edina Torlakovic has a diverse work experience in various roles related to education, research, and program management.

Starting from 2020, Edina worked at Compusult Limited as the Director of Cognitive Research and Learning. In this role, they were responsible for identifying training needs, conducting assessments, and managing the design and delivery of training courses for Compusult and related applications.

From 2016 to 2020, Edina worked at Research in Education Inc. as the Director of Educational Program Design, Development, and Evaluation. Here, they were responsible for designing and evaluating educational programs.

In 2016, Edina also worked at Carleton University as the Instructional Design and Research Facilitator. Their responsibilities included providing pedagogical and technological support for e-learning materials and supporting research initiatives.

Prior to that, they served as the Head of Research/Program Evaluation Department at EPS Literacy and Intervention from 2009 to 2016.

From 2001 to 2007, Edina worked as a Research Associate and Sessional Lecturer at Carleton University, where they conducted studies in the field of Computer Assisted Language Learning and Cognitive Modeling of Second Language Acquisition.

Additionally, Edina worked as a Computer Assisted Language Learning Specialist at the National Research Council Canada from 2003 to 2005.

In 2001, they worked as the Project Manager for the Information Technology Certificate Program at the Teaching and Learning Center, Carleton University.

Lastly, from 1993 to 2001, Edina worked at the Canadian Forces Language School as a Project Manager and Teacher.

Edina Torlakovic obtained a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at Carleton University from 1999 to 2001. Edina is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cognitive Science at Carleton University, and they have completed all but the dissertation requirements (ABD status).
