Juan J. Celaya began their career in 1979 as Manager of Operations & Services at Sam Houston State University, where they were responsible for managing and planning the university computer center operation, scheduling and executing administration applications and student support, and instructing and assisting in the use of the computer resource to university instructors and officials. In 1982, they became Assistant Director of MIS at DSI Transports, Inc. In 1988, they became Owner, President & CEO of COMPU-DATA International, LLC, where they work to help customers with business solutions for Enterprise Content Management, Information Organization & Access and Business Process Automation. Juan J. also consults in Document Imaging, Centralized and Distributed Capture, Forms Processing, Enterprise Search, Automatic Classification, Taxonomy and Information Management in general.

Juan J. Celaya has a Masters degree in Management and Computer Science from Houston Christian University, which they obtained between 1984 and 1986. Juan J. also has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Sam Houston State University, which they obtained between 1977 and 1979. Additionally, they hold an Enterprise Content Management Professional (ECMP) certification from AIIM.
