Samuel began their career as an Assistant State's Attorney at the Office of the State's Attorney for Baltimore City, where they handled thousands of criminal cases and worked on negotiations with defense attorneys. Samuel then joined NVR, Inc. as a Sales and Marketing Associate, where they were responsible for drafting and executing sales contracts.

In 2014, Samuel transitioned to the legal services industry, joining Special Counsel as a Business Development Director. In this role, they worked with law firms and corporations in the greater Baltimore area, identifying and qualifying top talent for staffing needs. Samuel later took on the position of Executive Director at Special Counsel, overseeing the Maryland operation of the national eDiscovery and Outsourced Solutions provider.
