John Hemstock, MAIR SPHR has extensive work experience in various senior leadership roles related to human resources and talent management. Their most recent position was as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Compeer Financial, where they were responsible for developing and implementing strategies and tactics in areas of talent management, total rewards, data management, and internal/external communications. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Talent and Technology Officer at Compeer Financial, leading a team responsible for talent management, technology, and data management for the organization. Before joining Compeer Financial, Hemstock held senior leadership roles at AgStar Financial Services, where they led HR and business technology teams, and HickoryTech, where they managed compensation programs and generalist activities. John began their career at AgriBank as a Compensation Analyst and moved into an HR Generalist role. Hemstock holds a Master's degree in Industrial Relations and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
John Hemstock obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Management & European History from Gustavus Adolphus College, where they attended from 1986 to 1990. John then pursued further education and earned a Master of Arts in Human Resources Management (MAIR) from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management between 1991 and 1994. In addition to their degrees, Hemstock obtained a certification in the form of SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in May 2004.
