Mia Zavalij is an experienced professional with a focus on project management, fundraising, and environmental sustainability. Currently serving as a Senior Project Manager at Compass Group USA since June 2022, Mia also co-founded and functions as the Director of Development at Food Recovery Network, implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies and evaluating financial goals since September 2011. Additionally, Mia was a co-founder and food recovery consultant at Eatable, working on food waste reduction strategies from September 2016 to May 2022. Prior roles include Development and Engagement Manager at Head Injury Rehabilitation and Referral Services, and leadership positions in climate action at Power Shift 2014 and Chesapeake Climate Action Network. Mia began their career as a canvasser for the Fund for the Public Interest, raising funds for environmental causes. Mia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a minor in Sustainability from the University of Maryland.
