Kate York is a seasoned grant writer with extensive experience in civil legal services and advocacy for children in foster care. Since November 2020, Kate has served as a Grant Writer for Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida, Inc. Previously, as the Director of Grants at The Florida Bar Foundation from October 2017 to November 2020, Kate collaborated with over 33 civil legal service organizations and 12 law schools to identify funding gaps and develop effective grant programs that enhance access to justice in Florida. Kate's background also includes roles as Grants Program Officer at the Legal Aid Society of the OCBA and as a Guardian ad Litem attorney, where Kate advocated for foster children's best interests in civil dependency court through extensive litigation and collaboration with social service agencies. Kate holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Florida Coastal School of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.
