Carrie Mendoza believes in Community Housing Network’s (CHN) core value of integrity and it is the basis for her role as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Carrie has over 20 years of experience in non-profit accounting. Since joining CHN in 2014, Carrie has been responsible for directing the financial operations in accordance with the highest level of accounting principles. Carrie also oversees the quality assurance and compliance aspects of the organization.
As a member of the executive management team, she develops strategic plans to support the future viability of the organization through a diversified financial portfolio. She has implemented and enhanced policies and procedures to support CHN’s ongoing compliance and risk management program as well as the achievement of CARF accreditation. She also leads initiatives and strategies to support organizational culture.
CHN has grown to an annual operating budget of more than $30 million during the 2021 fiscal year. With the inclusion of nine residential developments utilizing Low-Income Housing Tax Credits to provide affordable housing in Michigan, CHN’s annual audited assets were nearly $57 million as of September of 2020.
