Amy M. Carlson

Community Social Worker Obstetrics/pediatrics at CHAS Health

Amy M. Carlson has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Amy M. currently works as a Community Social Worker Obstetrics/Pediatrics at CHAS Health since June 2021. Prior to this, they were the Director/Founder of Kenya's Umbrella Children Inc. since March 2017. Amy also served as an Associate Epidemiologist and Clinical Specialist at Panhandle Health District from November 2019 to September 2021 and from August 2020 to August 2020, respectively. Amy M. worked as a Program Coordinator at Children's Village from November 2017 to August 2020, where they made a positive impact on children in need. Amy also gained valuable knowledge through certifications in humanitarian standards and practices from the Humanitarian Leadership Academy. In the past, they held positions as an Administrative Coordinator/House Manager at Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery from July 2014 to July 2016, as a Business Development Manager at Nordstrom from April 2006 to November 2013, and as an Emergency Medical Technician at Community Based Ambulance Service from September 2005 to December 2008.

Amy M. Carlson has a diverse education history. In 1998, they attended Community Colleges of Spokane with a focus on sociology. The following year, in 1999, they pursued a Trauma Focused Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) program at North Idaho College. From 2005 to 2007, they obtained a certification as an Emergency Medical Technician, specializing in trauma and first responder care, also from North Idaho College. Later, in an unknown year, they completed a Psychological First Aid for Children program at the Humanitarian Leadership Academy. More recently, in 2015 to 2017, they received a certification in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from the Devereaux Early Childhood Assessment (DECA). In addition, they obtained a certification in Safe Sleep Certification for Infants and Toddlers from the National SIDS Foundation. In 2017 to 2018, they pursued an additional certification in Non-Profit Administration from North Idaho College. Amy's education continued in 2018, as they obtained a Medication Certificate in Medicine from North Idaho College, and also completed a Family/Child Trauma Professional Certificate specializing in family trauma from Pesi.
