Bethany Cooper-Nelson serves as the Student Supports Manager at Communities In Schools of Chicago since May 2023. Previously, Cooper-Nelson worked as an Instructional Facilitator at Safer Foundation from November 2022 to May 2023, focusing on educational material tailored to students impacted by the carceral system. Other roles include serving as a server at The Wine Goddess and Blind Faith Cafe, and as a policy intern at Restore Justice, where advocacy training and legislative meetings were led. Cooper-Nelson also held pastoral positions at Bethany United Church of Christ and East End Fellowship, along with experience as a YOUth Americorps Worker at Youth & Opportunity United. Educational qualifications include a Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion/Religious Studies from Calvin University.
