Alissa is an Account Executive at Commonwealth PR. Her practice focuses on providing strategic communications and writing expertise to clients. With more than 20 years of public relations experience, Alissa has worked with nonprofit, corporate and service organizations to provide assistance with project planning and management, member and employee communications, web page development, social media, event planning, media relations, and writing for magazines, newsletters, annual reports and strategic communication campaigns. Alissa earned her Accreditation in Public Relations, a mark of qualification, distinction and ethical practice in the public relations industry, from the Public Relations Society of America in 2003.

Alissa has earned several Virginia Public Relations Awards in both the Tactics and Practices Divisions for her work on web sites, internal communications campaigns and internal video programs.

Alissa has been a member of the Richmond Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America since 1996 and has held various positions on the board of directors including president, professional development chair and membership chair. She is a past president of the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation, past chairwoman of the University of Richmond Young Graduate Steering Committee, former president and communications chair of the Nuckols Farm Elementary School PTA, and a former board member of the University of Richmond Alumni Association.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Richmond.
