Stephen Hicks is a seasoned mechanical engineer with extensive experience in structural analysis and product development. Currently serving as a Senior Diagnostic Mechanical Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems since December 2023, Stephen previously held the position of Senior Structures Engineer at Collins Aerospace, where responsibilities included performing structural R&D analysis of high-temperature heat exchangers and collaborating on fluid-structure interactions. Prior experience includes a Senior Structural Engineer role at General Dynamics Electric Boat, analyzing submarine pressure vessels and leading engineering documentation efforts. Stephen's background also encompasses internships at SolaBlock, Black Island Wind Turbines, and Eastman Chemical Company, demonstrating a strong foundation in mechanical engineering acquired through a Master's degree from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
