Alexander Creely serves as the Head of Tokamak Operations at Commonwealth Fusion Systems since February 2019, focusing on preparing for the first net energy plasma in the SPARC project. Previously, Alexander held positions including Head of Physics-Engineering Integration, where responsibilities included linking physics and engineering design for the SPARC tokamak, and Deputy Head of Physics, with a secondary role in systems engineering. Prior to joining Commonwealth Fusion Systems, Alexander worked as a Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in tokamak core turbulence diagnostics while pursuing a PhD in Plasma Physics and Fusion Energy. Alexander's internship experiences include notable institutions such as the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics and the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. Academic credentials include a PhD in Applied Plasma Physics from MIT and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University, complemented by study abroad at the University of Oxford.
