Nick Sproull

Senior Director of Product Strategy at Common App

Nick Sproull has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Nick began their career as an Admission Counselor at Butler University in 2002 and later served as a College/Academic Advisor at Cathedral High School. In 2013, they worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Butler University.

Starting in 2015, Sproull was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The Johns Hopkins University and later became a Postdoctoral Teaching Assistant in 2017.

In 2020, they joined Encoura as the Director of Engagement, where they played a key role in the design and launch of an ed-tech ecosystem connecting students and educators with postsecondary opportunities nationwide. Nick'sresponsibilities included product ownership, go-to-market planning, and strategic partnerships.

From 2007 to 2020, Sproull worked at the NCAA, first as an Associate Director of Research and later as the Director of the Eligibility Center. In these roles, they directed initiatives supporting student success and managed a team of 11 employees.

Most recently, in 2021, Sproull joined Resultant as a Senior Consultant. During their tenure, they led client engagements focused on improving student outcomes using data analysis, design thinking, and change management. Nick also served in various roles such as engagement manager, business development lead, and subject matter expert.

In 2023, Sproull will be joining Common App as the Senior Director of Product Strategy.

Nick Sproull received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music with Honors from Butler University from 1998 to 2002. Nick then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in K-12 and Postsecondary Educational Leadership from Michigan State University from 2009 to 2012. Additionally, they attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2011 and obtained a Certificate in the Future of Learning Institute. Finally, from 2013 to 2016, they earned a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree from The Johns Hopkins University. In terms of additional certifications, Nick Sproull has completed the Human Subjects Research - Social, Behavioral, Educational program offered by the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY. The specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
