Elden H. has extensive work experience in the field of information security and technology. Elden began their career in 1986 as an Information Service professional at The Queen's Medical Center, where they worked on projects related to computer systems and security, including compliance with HIPAA regulations. Elden also served as a Manager of the Pathology Department at the hospital.
In 2002, Elden joined InfraGard as a member and later became the chapter president, contributing to the national charter development of the organization.
From 2002 to 2006, Elden worked as a Security Administrator at The Queen's Medical Center - IT Outsource company, conducting compliance audits and presenting findings to an executive steering committee.
In 2006, Elden joined a Bank as an Information Security Officer, where they played a key role in rebuilding the Information Security Department and Program. Elden implemented various security measures, such as intrusion protection systems and data loss prevention systems, and managed the Security Awareness Training Program for the bank.
In 2013, Elden moved to another Bank as a Data Security Compliance and IT Audit Officer, where they updated the information security policy and delivered training to all employees.
In 2016, Elden joined the Healthcare Quality Improvement and Innovation Organization as a Regional Privacy and Security Officer. Elden was responsible for designing and managing the information security program to protect patient information and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Most recently, Elden has been working as a VP, Information Security Officer/ IT Coordinator at the Commercial Banking Company since 2019. In this role, they oversee the Information Security Program to safeguard bank and customer critical information assets. Elden also coordinates information security and IT projects and provides desktop user support.
Throughout their career, Elden has consistently demonstrated their expertise in information security, regulatory compliance, program management, and team leadership.
Elden H. completed a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in Health Service Administration at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 1982 to 1983. Besides their formal education, Elden H. has obtained several certifications throughout their career, including "Unconscious Bias" from LinkedIn in July 2023, "Proofpoint Certified DLP Specialist 2022" from Proofpoint in November 2022, "CHPS - Certified Healthcare Privacy & Security" from AHIMA in April 2017, "PCIP - Payment Card Industry Professional" from the PCI Security Standards Council in August 2016, "Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA)" from ISACA in January 2008, "CISSP" from the Information Systems Security Certification Consortium in July 2001, and "Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)" from (ISC)² in May 2001.
