Dr. Gunther is a locally raised board-certified family physician with a long history of caring for vulnerable populations in the Boston area. He completed his residency at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, MA. He has served as medical director of community health centers in Somerville, MA and has maintained a clinical practice at Boston Medical Center. He has taught medical students and residents for many years, in part as an assistant clinical professor at Boston University. Dr. Gunther’s work has focused on survivors of trauma and the treatment of behavioral conditions that can arise from such experiences, particularly depression and substance use disorders. His philosophy of care is holistic in nature, acknowledging the multitude of factors that impact recovery and healing.
