Kevin Sweeney has extensive experience in education and engineering, currently serving as a Science Teacher at Columbus School for Girls since August 2005, teaching across all K-12 grades. Sweeney was the Lead Advisor for FIRST Robotics from August 2005 to January 2020, and prior to that, held the position of AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the National Science Foundation from September 2003 to August 2004. Sweeney began a career at Ford Motor Company as a Technical Specialist at the Ford Forschungszentrum Aachen from January 2000 to June 2003. Academic qualifications include a Dr.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University (1995-2000) and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University (1986-1992).
