Kira Godwin began their work experience in 2007 as a Payroll/Accounting Specialist at Ellis Meares & Son, Inc. Kira held this position until 2016. In 2016, they joined Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS) as a Senior Accountant. Kira then progressed to the position of Director of Accounting in October 2019 at CRHS.

From 2014 to 2015, they studied at Methodist University where they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Organizational Leadership & Management.

In 2013 to 2014, Kira attended North Carolina Wesleyan University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management, General.

Earlier in their academic journey, from 2003 to 2005, they attended Southeastern Community College - NC, where they obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist.

Furthermore, Kira also acquired additional certifications. In July 2015, they obtained the Senior Professional of Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI. Additionally, in April 2014, they attained certification as a Certified Payroll Professional from the American Payroll Association.
