Laurel Jones serves as the Assistant Deputy Director of Advocacy and Staff Attorney at Columbia Legal Services since February 2020, providing trauma-informed legal representation to individuals facing challenges related to incarceration and homelessness, while participating in complex civil actions in Washington State courts. Previously, Laurel held the position of Managing Attorney at the Center for Children & Youth Justice, overseeing a civil legal aid program for youth impacted by the foster care and juvenile justice systems. Additional legal experience includes roles at Carey & Lillevik, PLLC as an Associate Attorney, and various internships focusing on civil rights and legal representation for marginalized populations. Laurel holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Washington School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Women's Studies from the University of Washington.
