Carey Almond has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. They began their career at West Lumber Company as a Staff Accountant, working part-time from 1990 to 1995. They then moved on to BellSouth, where they held various positions including Senior Accountant, Financial Analyst, and Associate Director of Corporate Finance. At BellSouth, Carey was responsible for capital market strategies, executing debt issues, and implementing hedging strategies. In 2006, Carey joined Colonial Pipeline Company as the Assistant Treasurer and later became the Treasurer and Director of Corporate Insurance. This comprehensive background showcases Carey's expertise in finance and leadership roles.
Carey Almond obtained a B.B.A. in Accounting from Georgia State University - J. Mack Robinson College of Business in 1994. Later, in 1999, Carey completed an M.S. in Finance from the same institution. In 2010, Carey attended Emory University - Goizueta Business School for an Executive Education Program focused on Managerial Leadership. Additionally, Carey completed an Executive Development Program in Treasury Management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013. Carey is also certified as a CPA by the State of Georgia.
