Laura Barnes is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy development, advocacy, and community change initiatives. Currently serving as the ChangeFest Backbone Manager at Collaboration for Impact since October 2023, Laura leads strategic and engagement efforts for a national movement focused on place-based change. As the Founder of Collective Change Consulting since July 2020, Laura specializes in fostering partnerships and process improvements for systemic change. Previous roles include Principal Policy Officer at Health and Wellbeing Queensland, Associate at Health Justice Australia, and Senior Manager of Policy Advocacy and Capacity at Queensland Council of Social Service, showcasing a consistent commitment to advancing equity and community well-being. Laura has also held leadership positions in regional development and workforce policy at the Queensland Treasury and Health and Community Services Workforce Council, underscoring expertise in labor market participation and community service sectors. Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Government, Culture, and Communication from the University of Queensland.
