David Duong, CFA, currently serves as the Head of Institutional Research at Coinbase since November 2021. Prior to this role, David was the Head of LatAm FX Strategy at HSBC Global Banking and Markets from September 2016 to November 2021, where responsibilities included publishing macro views and trade ideas for institutional and corporate clients while conducting statistical and econometric analyses. David also held the position of Vice President and Senior LatAm Rates Strategist at Santander from March 2011 to June 2016, focusing on rates and FX strategies across Latin America. Earlier in the career, David worked as an Associate Latin American Fixed Income Strategist at Deutsche Bank from August 2004 to March 2011, analyzing emerging market sovereign debt. David's career began as a Research Consultant at ICF International, where work involved designing tools for emissions trading and analyzing greenhouse gas projects. Academically, David holds a Master’s degree from The London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Political Science from Colgate University.
