Mantas Butkus is an experienced professional in the field of physics and engineering, currently serving as a Senior Product Line Manager at Coherent Inc. since November 2013, after progressing through roles as Product Line Manager and Product Engineering Manager. Prior to this, Mantas worked at the University of Dundee from September 2008 to November 2013 as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate and PhD Student, focusing on optically pumped semiconductor disk lasers, quantum dot lasers, and SESAM technology for laser mode-locking. Beginning a career at Altechna Co. Ltd. as a Sales Engineer from June 2007 to August 2008, Mantas also served as a Laboratory Assistant at the Institute of Applied Research, Vilnius University, where work involved luminescence spectroscopy of GaN. Mantas holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Dundee and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics from Vilnius University.
