Carl Cortright is currently the Founder and CEO of Coherent, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Coinbase for four years, from 2018 to 2022, in various roles including Senior Software Engineer, Ventures, and Software Engineer II. Carl also served as a Software Engineering Intern at Coinbase from 2018 to 2019. Before joining Coinbase, Carl was an Advisory Board Member in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2018 to 2019. Carl also had an extensive involvement with HackCU, where they served as the Director from 2017 to 2019. Carl's work experience also includes an internship at Foundry Group from 2016 to 2018, and a research internship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015.

Carl Cortright completed their education with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder, attending from 2015 to 2019. Prior to that, they pursued Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2014 to 2015. Carl's educational journey began at Madison West High School from 2011 to 2015, where they received their High School diploma with a focus on General Education.
