Valentina Di Caro has a wealth of experience in research. Valentina started their career in 2007 as a Post Doc at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2011, they moved to Fondazione Rimed as a Research Associate. Valentina then moved back to the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 as a Research Scientist and Research Associate, as well as a Visiting Scholar at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. In 2019, Di Caro joined NeuBase Therapeutics, Inc. as Director of Biology Research, Principal Scientist, and Senior Scientist. Most recently, they were appointed Director of Research at Cognition Therapeutics, Inc. in 2022.

Valentina Di Caro obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Università degli Studi di Palermo between 2002 and 2006. Valentina also obtained a Master's degree in Molecular Biology from the same university between 1996 and 2001.
