Joe Todd's work experience begins in 2016 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of St Andrews. In this role, they developed detailed process-scale models of iceberg calving and made improvements to HiDEM, a discrete element model for iceberg calving. Joe was responsible for load balancing, efficient Input/Output formats, documentation, refactoring, and providing technical guidance to other users.
In 2020, Joe joined The University of Edinburgh as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Here, they developed a parallel scalable ice sheet model called "fenics_ice" in Python to enhance estimates of future sea level rise. Joe implemented Bayesian inference and utilized eigendecomposition to exploit the low-rank nature of the ice sheet. Joe's responsibilities included writing tests, enabling continuous integration, and collecting, cleaning, and processing input data.
From 2021, Joe worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Codeplay Software. Further details about this role are not provided.
Joe Todd's education history begins in 2007 when they enrolled at the University of St Andrews. Joe pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and completed their studies in 2011.
