Mario is a software engineer in the Platform team focused on making a positive impact in the world. With a background in biomedical engineering, he worked as a researcher in neuroimaging for a few years. Mario used his coding skills to analyze brain MRIs and help patients with neurodegenerative diseases. He switched from research to education when he immigrated from Spain to the USA, and taught AP CS Principles for a year using code.org's curriculum in a Charter School focused on underserved communities. He was inspired by code.org's impact and decided to contribute to the mission as a software engineer.
