Jordan Lewis is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in database technology and software development. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering for CockroachDB Cloud at Cockroach Labs since June 2016, Jordan has a strong track record of leading engineering teams, improving scalable database solutions, and enhancing system performance. Previous roles include Director of Engineering, where leadership encompassed multiple teams within SQL, Disaster Recovery, and Change Data Capture, and Senior Engineering Manager, responsible for expanding team structure and capabilities. Jordan's career began with critical contributions at Knewton, where significant cost reductions and efficiency improvements were achieved in machine-learning infrastructure. Educational qualifications include a BS in Computer Science from the University of Chicago and an Associate of Arts from Bard College. Additionally, Jordan provides part-time technical advisory services for the investment team at Work-Bench.
