Troy Black has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and programming. Troy started their career in 2001 at EchoStar Corporation as a CC Manager and Developer II, where they worked until 2005. Troy then joined Branch Consulting in 2005 and served as a Software Engineer, VP of IT, and Business Partner until 2011. From 2009 to 2012, they worked at TDB Solutions LLC as a Software Architect and Founder. Troy then joined Connect First, Inc. in 2012 as a Senior Software Engineer and worked there until 2018. Following that, they joined American Century Investments as a Programmer/Analyst-Specialist III and worked there until 2019. Currently, Troy Black is employed at Cobalt Iron as a Senior Software Engineer.

Troy Black attended Front Range Community College from 2001 to 2002, where they pursued an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Computer Science with a focus on Cisco Networking. In September 2018, they obtained the certification of Certified SAFe® 4 Practitioner from Scaled Agile, Inc.
