Boy Wijnmaalen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Boy started their career as a Trainee at Multiscope in 2005. In 2010, they worked as a Trainee at Freshheads, where they developed a real-time statistics dashboard. Boy then joined Restaurant In den Zevenden Hemel as a Chef Bediening from 2002 to 2011.

Boy transitioned into web development and worked as a Web Developer at Freshheads from 2012 to 2014, specializing in PHP and Symfony frameworks. Boy also worked as a Service Staff at Zoetelief during the same period.

In 2014, Boy joined CM.com as a Web Developer, where they built and maintained the company's branding websites and consumer portals. In 2015, they became part of the Payments team and contributed to the development of a scalable and secure Payments platform.

In 2016, Boy took on the role of Solutions Engineer, coordinating with the company's HQ to implement new features for African customers. Boy then joined MAGNEDS in 2018 as a Software Engineer, working on digital sales and loyalty solutions for premium brands.

Currently, Boy is working as a Software Engineer at CM.com, a position they have held since December 2019.

Boy Wijnmaalen attended St. Janslyceum from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained a HAVO degree. After completing their high school education, they enrolled at Avans University of Applied Sciences in 2001 and continued until 2002, although they did not earn a degree during this period. Boy then pursued further studies at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht) from 2003 to 2011, earning a Bachelor's degree in Communication.

In addition to their formal education, Boy Wijnmaalen has also obtained certifications in various fields. In 2009, they earned a certification in Sociale Hygiëne from Koninklijke Horeca Nederland. Later, in 2012, they achieved the Zend Certified Engineer PHP 5.3 certification from Zend.
