Matthew McCartney has had an extensive career in software development and engineering. Matthew began their career as an Electrical Engineer at STEPHENSON CONTROL SYSTEMS LIMITED in 1999. In 2000, they became a Web Developer at Imageintellect Ltd, specializing in ecommerce websites. In 2002, they moved to Imageintellect Co., Ltd. as a Web Development Manager, managing a team of 4-6 web developers/designers and handling daily business administration tasks. In 2007, they joined eBusiness Software 121 Co., Ltd. as a Web Development Manager and successfully designed and developed a group of highly ranked websites and a number of comprehensive back office systems. In 2016, they became a Full Stack Web Developer at VRT Group, designing/developing back office productivity business tools. In 2017, they joined 2C2P as a Team Lead - Assistant Manager, System Architect and implemented department wide agile project management using Jira software. That same year, they joined LiveAboard.com as a Senior Software Developer, developing and scaling existing and creating new IT systems. In 2019, they became Lead Developer at LiveAboard.com, designing the website and supporting systems with a strong emphasis on excellent user experience, high performance, and continual feedback. Finally, in 2021, they joined CluedIn as an Engineering Team Lead and Senior Product Engineer, developing new features with a strong emphasis on performance, stability and testability.

Matthew McCartney obtained a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham between 1995 and 1999. Matthew also holds several certifications from Microsoft, including Azure Fundamentals (obtained in January 2023), DevOps Engineer Expert (obtained in January 2021), and Azure Developer Associate (obtained in September 2020).
