Matt Lawless has worked in a variety of roles since 1986. Matt began their career as a Departmental Manager at Primark, where they received extensive training in staff management, merchandising, and seasonal sales management. In 1988, they became a Sales Representative at Citytech, where they successfully sold the newest, largest, and most expensive Sharp Copier of the time into NUIG. In 1992, they were hired as a Sales Manager at KPW Print Management, where they were responsible for developing and managing accounts in a territory from Donegal to Kerry and across the midlands. Matt also hired and trained internal sales staff and helped migrate them to direct sales, as well as devising a manual CRM system that was later transitioned to an online version. In 1996, Matt founded Galway City Forms as a Print Management and Sales Agency. Matt partnered with two Manufacturing Companies in Cork and Galway in order to design, manufacture, and deliver account forms to businesses on a nationwide basis, and secured stock management and storage contracts for all outlets of the Great Southern Hotel Group, Mangan Cash & Carrys, Brooks Thomas Providers, Irish Pride Bakeries, and others. In 2014, they became a Sales Consultant at the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. In 2015, Matt became a Business Development Manager at myITdepartment.ie, where they worked on a one-year project to implement and develop immediate and future contract opportunities in the West and Midlands Region. Finally, in 2016, they became a National Sales Manager and Regional Sales Manager at Clubforce, where they were responsible for lead conversion and account management in the West, Northwest, South, and Midlands Region.
Matt Lawless' education history includes completing Dale Carnegie Training from 1999-2000, where they studied Public Speaking, Sales Techniques & Psychology, and Business Coaching. Matt also attended Western Management Centre from 1993-1996, and Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology from 1993-1994, where they studied Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services. Additionally, they have participated in non-degree programs at GAA, University of Galway, and Setanta College.
