Steven Baxter has a strong background in longevity and demographic risk analysis. Steven started their career as a Consulting Actuary at Hewitt Associates in 1999, where they worked until 2007. During their time at Hewitt Associates, they gained expertise in actuarial consulting.

In 2007, Baxter joined Hymans Robertson as a Partner & Longevity Risk Consultant. Steven provided specialist consulting on longevity and demographic risk, including quantifying longevity risk in insurance and pension books, designing pricing bases, and offering strategic risk management advice. Steven later became the Head of Longevity Innovation and Research in 2016.

Since 2008, Baxter has also been involved with Club Vita, initially starting as the Head of Longevity Research. Steven was responsible for developing longevity analytics and leading a team of statisticians and actuaries to analyze predictors of longevity, emerging trends in mortality, and the impact of longevity uncertainty on pension schemes. In 2019, they took on the role of Head of Longevity Innovation, continuing their work in developing new ideas and approaches in the field of longevity.

Steven Baxter has a strong educational background in mathematics. Steven attended the University of Cambridge from 1995 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree (MA) in Mathematics. Steven continued their studies at the University of Cambridge and completed the Part III (MMath) program in Mathematics from 1998 to 1999.

In addition to their academic degrees, Steven Baxter also pursued professional certification in the field of actuarial science. Starting in 2004, they enrolled at the Institute of Actuaries and obtained the designation of Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA). The exact completion year for this certification is unknown.
